Pilgrimage to St Andrew's
On Saturday 4th June 2016, over 60 parishioners from St Gerard's & Sacred Heart travelled to St Andrew's for a pilgrimage for the Year of Mercy.
The coaches left Sacred Heart Church at 8.00am and we arrived in St Andrew's just after 10.00am. After we arrived we headed straight to St James' Church where pilgrims passed through the Holy Door of Mercy before Father McGoldrick celebrated Holy Mass. After Mass we went to the Parish Hall for tea and coffee and a short presentation on the history of St Andrew's. Everyone was then treated to ice cream before heading off on their own tour of the town.
During the afternoon, many pilgrims choose to spend their free time by visiting the Cathedral ruins, going to the beach or watching the golf.
A great day was had by all and our most grateful thanks to Father Michael John Galbraith and the parishioners of St James' for their very warm welcome.
