As part of our celebrations for the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy and the Season of Lent, we will be hosting an All-Night Vigil in St Gerard's Church on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th March, 2016.

The Vigil will begin at 8:00pm on Friday 11th with a Celebration of Holy Mass. The homilist for the Mass will be Father Robert Kane, Parish Priest of St Teresa's Newarthill and a Missionary of Mercy. Following the Mass, there will be Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament throughout the night.

On Friday evening, several visiting priests will be available to celebrate the Sacrament of Confession.

From 9.00pm until 7.00am, the Holy Rosary will be prayed each hour, on the hour. Each Rosary will be offered for a particular intention, as well as our own intentions that we bring with us.

Rosary Intentions: 9.00pm Divine Mercy; 10.00pm Young People; 11.00pm Parish Communities; 1.00am Pro-Life; 2.00am The Lapsed; 3.00am Peace; 4.00am Poor & Homeless; 5.00am Vocations to the Priesthood & Religious Life; 6.00am Sick & Housebound; 7.00am The Faithful Departed.

The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed at 9:00pm, Night Prayer of the Church at 10:30pm and Morning Prayer of the Church at 6.30am on Saturday 12th.

At Midnight, in place of the Rosary, the Stations of the Cross will be prayed.

During the night, between each Rosary, there will be periods of silent Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and time for personal prayer and reflection.

Tea & Coffee will be provided throughout the night in the Parish Meeting Room.

The Vigil will draw to a close at 8.00am on Saturday 12th March with the Celebration of Holy Mass.

We sincerely hope that many people will take advantage of this opportunity to receive the infinite love and mercy of God. We also hope that those who have been away from the Church for some time will find this to be the perfect opportunity to return home to the Father.

Everyone will be most welcome to join us in God's house during this 12 hours Vigil of prayer for the Jubilee of Mercy.

If you are free then please do come along, for as little or as long as you wish.
